On Saturday October 16, several members of our team participated in the Kinderuniversiteit organized at the Gasthuisberg campus in Leuven. On this day, children between 8 and 13 years old can come to the university to follow lectures and interactive workshops. Our team gave two workshops about the fascinating world of microbes. By performing experiments, we learned why it is important wash our hands to avoid the spread of germs. We also learned how to distinguish female from male mosquitoes and looked at mosquitoes under a magnifying glass. It was a fun experience!
